A memo from Kate
AND THEN THEY DO........
2009 was a year of firsts, new beginnings, and a year with tremendous change.

There was Catherine Pennington and Kyle who were wed last year, now there's Katie and Jon...... I remember when these girls were so little, when their only worries were what time they would get out of school so they could come ride. I remember one Mother's Day when a father drove his daughter down our driveway to see if his daughter could take a lesson, THAT DAY! Well from that day on things never changed, Katie Pendergrass is now a graduate from Georgia Tech with a very successful career and in September 2009 she married Jon!  How is it that I can be that old? Pictured left is Katie Pendergrass/Eveleth and Kate Stice (yes that's Kate)

Ryan and Michael are full out football fanatics. Ryan is nearing 6ft. and one of the youngest and biggest players on his GT Team.  Michael was moved from running back to quarterback and just loves it! Both boys are so very wonderful and Rob and I love watching them play. The football field is definitely Ryan's domain. No one tells him to be careful, to slow down...he as well as Michael go full out!

Anne Simmons was a star st the 2009 AQHA Select World show. She placed 3rd in Hunt Seat Equitation, and fourth in Hunter Under Saddle! Maggie and Diane had a great show and accomplished many goals! We are so proud of you gals!
Each year Georgia's Top Youth Riders are honored at the annual "Youth Day" that takes place at the Georgia capital in Atlanta!

DON'T BLINK......

It seams as though life is rushing by. We all hurry from one station to another station sometimes forgetting to take a breath, to stop and enjoy the moments or what I see as the path. There's those old sayings that, "true joy comes from the path not the destination" and for us to, "stop and smell the roses". As I look back the past year so much has changed, pictures of what once where little girls running through the barn excited to saddle their horses are now pictures of those same little girls turning into young ladies and attending or entering thier college years. I take another step back and look at the girls who are now moms, ones that have very successful careers, and the ones whose children are now starting to come ride....WOW. All I can say is "Don't Blink"!!  Enjoy every minute with each other, each moment of life, and be that one who makes a positive difference in someone elses life!

THE TRUE JOY IN LIFE

This is the true joy in life, the being used for a purpose recognized by yourself as a mighty one; the being thoroughly worn out before you are thrown on the scrap heap; the being a force of Nature instead of a feverish selfish little clod of ailments and grievances complaining that the world will not devote itself to making you happy.
